What a fantastic place to visit in such a wonderfully quaint location.||The service is exquisite, faultless I’d say.||The food was incredible. We stayed one night here and had 3 meals.|Evening|Breakfast and a Sunday dinner.|Each was delicious. The lamb shoulder was tender, moist and the fat was rendered perfectly and with a crisp to it!|The breakfast in the morning was hearty and locally sourced.|The Sunday lunch was amazing! The rump of beef was perfectly cooked and tasted perfect.||The room we stayed in was perfectly furnished. Comfortable beds and plenty of utilities; Nespresso machine, large TV and the usual amenities. Decorated with care and style.||Would love to come again on my next visit to this area.

Absolutely fabulous Sunday lunch, the best we've had for a while. Welcome and service lovely. Both the beef and pork delicious, the puddings divine. Thank you! Looking forward to attending one of the fish nights as well as the coffee shop. We're lucky to have this absolute gem so close 🙂

The food is absolutely beautiful, really lovely flavours and good portion sizes too. Staff are really friendly and helpful! |We didn't stay the night as live close by but the restaurant and bar are really beautifully decorated. |I've also been to the duchess which served a lovely bagel!

I was looking for a couple of nights to stop over in my VW Campervan, near Swindon, and I was recommended to look at The Duke. What a good call that turned out to be! They have a separate locked field with 5 pitches next to the pub/restaurant, and there is a cafe/local produce shop that opens at 9 til 4 Wed to Sun currently where I got a breakfast and some treats for Murphy my dog. Although I didn't eat in the restaurant, I did go in with Muphy for a drink, the food looked amazing and the atmosphere there was lovely. They aim to make it a real experience rather than just a meal out. I can't recommend it enough and will definitely be coming back if I'm in the area again.

We had a wonderful Sunday roast at The Duke. The meat was beautifully cooked and a very generous portion. Plenty of vegetables and the gravy was delicious. Lovely atmosphere and fantastic service. The whole family enjoyed their visit. Will be visiting again.

Outstanding hotel in every way.
I understand that this has been somewhat recently refurbished and they have done an outstanding job with a very high attention to detail.
Superbly presented rooms, great towels, excellent toiletries, good shower, extremely comfortable bed and spotlessly clean.
First impressions from checkin were superb, excellent welcome and show to our rooms with all the information we needed.
We only stayed one night, but had a superb dinner with excellent drinks and incredibly professional, friendly and attentive staff.
Slept extremely well in the very comfortable bed and was greeted with an excellent breakfast and superbly made coffee.

interior has been refurbished very well and it now is a lovely place to stay. Would highly, highly recommend it and will absolutely stay there again without hesitation.

Wow wow wow. |We went for the fish night evening menu at The Duke Hotel in Hilmarton near Calne. |Superb food, fantastic staff and a great atmosphere. |We were made to feel very welcome and the evening was great. |We will definitely be returning very soon.|They also have The Duchess Lounge which we have also been too. That too is a great place to go for coffee and cake. Love the farm shop bit❤️

A perfect lunch in a fabulous setting. Everything was perfectly cooked and nicely washed down by a very good house red and a pint of Broadtown brewery local beer. 5 of us had 3 different meats, beef, lamb and the chicken. Everyone said that their choice was the best!
It was lovely to see somewhere busy and thriving and we certainly didn’t feel rushed. The service was attentive without being intrusive.
Lucky to have somewhere like this on our doorstep and the bus stop outside the front door is an added bonus.
