Lifetime memories made here after I forgot my ID, it's been a week since and still the gossip of the office. Picture this, I've just turned 18 a week earlier and decide to go to bingo with some work colleagues. We had travelled 25 minutes to get here for the 'main event' bingo on Wednesday 17th July. We made our way through the front doors, to the check-in desk. After everyone else (and the trouble of resetting my password) I make my way to the woman behind the desk for her to give me my BUZZ bingo card. Then it happened, the heart wrenching question "Have you got any ID?". It felt as though her voice ricocheted off the walls, those words, like sharp daggers into my ears. I will admit I should've brought it, but I already had to scan it online therefore I believed I was already all in, however as I was soon to find, I was not. The woman behind the desk was polite about it, so I make my way over to the people who I came with, who were standing at the till across from the check in desk to tell them I must leave. Suddenly, the sky goes dark, clouds roll in, and lightning strikes. A younger woman comes over to us and says I need to leave at once! She was rather aggressive as she had her arm next to my face, blocking my view as she said, "you can't even look at this until you've shown us ID!" (AS IM WALKING TO THE EXIT). I wouldn't have minded the aggression if I was being non-compliant, however I was already making my way to the exit as I understood they needed ID for me to play, so I do believe she was a bit over the top and rude (but a funny part of the night). She turns to her colleague and says "Have you got her details? We will have to report this!" Again, I was compliant and walking out of the exit! I made my way out of one set of double doors, now stood in the entrance vestibule trying to sort out how to get back home to get my ID with one of my co-workers (a whole wall and double door away from any gambling machines and bingo cards!), then Thunder Woman comes over to us and demands I have to stand outside of the building altogether, which made things more difficult than they needed to be. Thankfully, it wasn't raining. Then a colleague drives me back to get my ID, as we return everything goes smoothly with the lady behind the desk but turns out they had already banned me! So, I was demoted to playing as a guest for the last 35 minutes of the main event, we had missed the first hour and a bit. Thunder Woman walks past our table but is no longer thunder, but sunshine and rainbows (I think she was annoyed that I genuinely wasn't underage) and I went to the bar to buy a couple of drinks and the woman at the bar ALSO ASKED ME FOR ID! After I had already provided it twice to Buzz. Turns out, I was the talk of all the buzz workers as she already knew what I had just gone through. Hilarious day out! Sadly, didn't win. I would have given 5 stars but in my opinion the bar shuts too early.
