I’ve been coming here for a couple of years. Consistently great, positive experiences. Safety is a priority here and I’ve always felt safe at this location. Friendly, knowledgeable dealers. This place is run well - 5 stars.

Visited Austin and played here for a week. This is a well run card room and I enjoyed my time. The dealers were excellent and generally friendly. The staff is attentive and know what they are doing. The NLH games were quite good and very passive. I did not play any PLO so cannot comment on those games. I would return to this card room.

This used to be my go to place to play. Almost everything here has lost its appeal to me. Dealers are mediocre at best, and there are plenty of just terrible ones in the mix. Management has mistreated customers here for years.Because there was no better option , but we all know better than that now. Tonight was the third time the cleaners have taken my personal tough aware and thrown it away without asking. When i told management they just shrugged their shoulders. Truth is there are just better options now.

“Private game” scam excludes members from playing stakes they want to play.
The biggest problem with the lodge is that you pay membership dues only to be excluded from the “rights” of being a member. The way they do this is to have private games that members are not allowed to play in - you can’t even sign up for them. It’s a really bad abuse of paying members and shows how little regard they have for the regular player.
If you want to play 1/2 NL in a cheap warehouse environment with chips for food, the lodge is fine. But 2/5 rarely runs and 5/10 NEVER runs because they exclude the players that the “private” game organizer can’t easily profit from. Many of the players are upset about this exclusionary practice, but the management continues to take our dues to pay for games for a handful of favorites. If you pay dues to be a member, you should have access to the games running at a club based on membership dues.
A real abuse.

Came from Ontario to play tournament series! Fantastic card club ran very well.

Down side is they didn't offer food.
Snacks only.

Bring a sweater , always cold. I'd ranter that than hot so not a bad thing.

2.5 stars, rounded up.

We stayed in the area for about a week and went every day. After booking a trip to the Austin area specifically to visit The Lodge (we are big fans of Brad, Andrew, and Doug) we were mildly impressed, if not slightly disappointed with the overall impression. Would we go back? Yes. Would we check out other card clubs in the area first? Absolutely.

For starters, the parking lot/entrance to the building is atrocious - cigarette butts, overflowing garbage cans, empty beer cans/bottles everywhere. I understand if they are renting the space some of that doesn't fall on them, but it wouldnt hurt to take time to clean up the curb a little each day. The bathrooms are borderline unusable. More specifically, the Men's room might actually give you an STD. Broken urinals, dirty walls and floors, garbage everywhere. Again, we visited every day for about a week and it was clear that the bathrooms weren't cleaned even once in that amount of time. The stains on the floor actually indicated that it might have been months since it was cleaned. That's unacceptable. For the amount of money they're making and the amount of players that go in and out of the place, hiring a cleaning crew even once a day is not asking a lot.

All that said, we had a great time and enjoyed ourselves. The staff at the front and the dealers are very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of tables and wait times were short. The prices for drinks and snacks were reasonable and offering free water and soda was nice.

They have an opportunity to make this place really great if they focus more on what they're doing now and perfecting the current operations before expanding.

As a full time player living in Texas, lodge is my goto for the amount of action, how quickly I can be seated and how the room is ran overall. This is a room made for poker players by poker players.

Been playing here the last couple of years and have met some incredible people along the way. The 1/2 and 1/2/5 plo has some of the best action in Austin with a large variety of players.

Whether you are visiting from out of town or a local, you are treated well and fairly.

Thanks Doug and staff, yall run a tight ship.

Staff has a huge customer service issue. There's a clique-ish aura about the entire room. If you're not a regular then you're almost treated like a burden. I drove an hour and 20 minutes to play a specific game that was scheduled to start at 2pm. I was 4th in the list. I walked in the door at 1:59 only to be told the game started early, I don't get a seat, and they can add me to the list that is already 8 deep which means I won't get a seat in that game for hours, if at all. I tried explaining to the young lady at the front desk that I was stuck trying to find parking in the insanely packed lot out front only to be met with an attitude and stonewalled. Complete waste of time and energy. Hour and 20 minutes of a drive and $20 in tolls only to be told I was a minute early and a minute late at the same time. No thanks, honor your start times.
